Air Cavity Ship Gallery
Air Cavity Ships (ACS) use the Air Lubrication concept: a small amount of air is injected under a specially profilied bottom so that most of the hull surface is separated form contact with water. Mercury is an ACS developed by the Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau to function as a boat for customs service. Maximum speed is 55 knots.
Sokzhoy is a patrol-boat derivative of Mercury.
Serna is a landing boat for transportation of tracked or wheeled vehicles of up to 45 tons. Full-load displacement 100 tons, speed 30 knots, range with cargo 100 n.m.
Linda is a high speed vessel for passenger transportation in shallow waters. She can go on uprepared shores. Full-load displacement 24.6 tons, speed 31 knots, passengers 70, range 220 n.m.
